Runs the design and risograph printshop, known as constance, a small studio that has been serving the design interests of large cultural institutions, galleries, collectives, and one-on-one artist projects, not only in New Orleans, but internationally as well.
Has an affinity for ‘the keep on keepin on’ human spirit, smoked boudin, inspiration where one can find it, the Saints, shitty typography, fried seafood, the printed page, the color yellow.
Consults and sits on board of directors for Deltaworkers, an international artist research residency-based in New Orleans.
Has contributed identity work for three volumes of the Berlin-based Die Gestalten Verlag‘s long-running “Logos” series.
Has worked with various djs, producers and artists over the years to create and ever-growing archive of mixtapes.
Though no longer updated, Private Stock was a personal collection of the dark, austere, and look into what drives my daily inner thoughts.
Erik Kiesewetter (b. 1981) is an independent multi-disciplinary designer primarily focused on publication, identity, and printed design. He studied graphic design at University of Louisiana in Lafayette and in 2004, set up his first studio in New Orleans.
In 2005 Erik founded Constance, a full-service design, risograph printing, and event coordination hub. It was created to nourish and strengthen the arts community of New Orleans and beyond. We continue to critically investigate discourses of design, utilizing highly unstable processes that cannot be easily measured and do not always yield the outcomes that were intended.
He is passionate about creating compelling strategies, design, and content.
